Hi, I’m Erin Darden,
Attorney turned emotional intelligence coach, and the founder of EQ for Love.
My emotional intelligence (EQ) journey began in an unexpected place—my job as an attorney. Early in my career, I found myself in a difficult relationship with my supervisor. Every conversation felt like a battle, and no matter what I said or did, it seemed to fall on deaf ears. I constantly felt misunderstood, dismissed, and powerless—an emotional rollercoaster that left me frustrated and unsure of myself, much like the struggles many people face in their romantic relationships.
Over time, this tension began to erode my confidence, making me second-guess my abilities and causing emotional strain that spilled over into other areas of my life. I knew something had to change, so I turned to emotional intelligence.
By focusing on managing my emotions and understanding my supervisor’s perspective, I began to see things differently.
I learned how to communicate more effectively, identify my needs, and approach difficult conversations with empathy rather than frustration. Slowly, the dynamic shifted, and the relationship improved. This experience opened my eyes to the power of emotional intelligence and made me wonder, If EQ can help with work, what could it do in personal relationships?
I began to apply these same principles in my romantic relationships, and the results were transformative. By understanding my own emotional triggers and learning how to communicate my needs clearly, I was able to resolve conflicts without escalating them and deepen my emotional connection with my partner. It became clear that emotional intelligence wasn’t just a professional skill—it was essential for personal growth and healthy relationships.
But this journey didn’t come easily to me. Growing up, I was extremely shy. I struggled to speak up for myself, unsure how to express my thoughts and feelings, which followed me into adulthood. It took time, practice, and a lot of self-reflection to find my voice, but once I did, I was able to build stronger connections and stand confidently in my truth.

This personal experience, combined with my professional background as an attorney and my formal training from the Coaching Training Academy—where I earned certifications in emotional intelligence and life coaching—drives my passion for helping others. Through my work, I guide women to break free from self-imposed barriers and transform their relationships by first focusing on themselves.
My approach centers around one core belief: You have to work on yourself before you can improve your relationships. Whether you’re single and preparing for your next relationship, or you’re currently navigating challenges with a partner, personal development is the foundation for building the love you truly deserve.
I’m here to help you reflect on who you are, resolve deep-seated issues, and reconnect with yourself and your partner, so you can experience the healthy, fulfilling relationships you crave.
